Taiwan's Formosa Plastics announced the price of PVC cargo for October 2020. The price will increase by about 130 US dollars/ton, FOB Taiwan US$940/ton, CIF China US$970/ton, CIF India reported US$1,020/ton. The supply is tight and there is no discount.

Recently, under the influence of Hurricane Laura, PVC production companies in the US have been restricted, and the PVC export market has risen. Before the hurricane, Oxychem closed its PVC plant with an annual output of 100 units per year. Although it resumed afterwards, it still reduced some of its output.After meeting the internal demand, the export volume of PVC is less, which makes the export price of PVC rise. Up to now, compared with the average price in August, the US PVC export market price has risen by about US$150/ton, and the domestic price has remained unchanged.

Since mid-July, supported by a series of favorable factors such as regional power rationing and equipment maintenance, the domestic calcium carbide market has been rising. Entering September, the phenomenon of unloading of calcium carbide trucks in consumer areas in North China and Central China has gradually occurred. Purchase prices have continued to loosen slightly and prices have dropped. ​In the later stage of the market, due to the current overall start-up of domestic PVC plants at a relatively high level, and there are fewer later maintenance plans, stable market demand is a strong support for the calcium carbide market.
