On August 18, five representative PVC manufacturing companies in China, on behalf of the domestic PVC industry, requested the Ministry of Commerce of China to conduct anti-dumping investigations against imported PVC originating in the United States. On September 25, the Ministry of Commerce approved the case. Stakeholders need to cooperate and need to register anti-dumping investigations with the Trade Remedy and Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce in a timely manner. If they fail to cooperate, the Ministry of Commerce will make a ruling based on the facts and best information that has been obtained.

According to the latest customs data, in July 2020, my country's total imports of pure PVC powder were 167,000 tons, which was slightly lower than the imports in June, but remained at a high level overall. In addition, the export volume of China's PVC pure powder in July was 39,000 tons, an increase of 39% from June. From January to July 2020, China's total imports of pure PVC powder are about 619,000 tons; from January to July, China's export of pure PVC powder is about 286,000 tons. ​

Taiwan's Formosa Plastics announced the price of PVC cargo for October 2020. The price will increase by about 130 US dollars/ton, FOB Taiwan US$940/ton, CIF China US$970/ton, CIF India reported US$1,020/ton. The supply is tight and there is no discount.
